Join Us in September for Hunger Action Month!

This year, Food Banks Canada is excited to work in collaboration with The Ontario Association of Food Banks for Hunger Action Month. This nation-wide campaign will take place during the entire month of September and will be in lieu of Hunger Awareness Week.

The purpose of the campaign will be to help raise awareness on a national, provincial and local level, while encouraging Canadians to take action in four key ways: Educate, Advocate, Volunteer and Donate

How to Get Your Food Bank Involved

Our toolkit will help your food bank elevate the message within your community. It includes:
  • A short deck with information about the campaign
  • Social media images filled with national statistics
  • Social media cover photos for Facebook and Twitter
  • Logos and branding that can be used with your existing branding/imagery
  • A postcard to use for a mailing campaign
  • Email signatures and website banners
  • Food Banks Canada’s Impossible Choices tool*
    • A link to access the Impossible Choices tool on the Food Banks Canada website
    • Lesson plans for primary and secondary schools that can be sent to teachers in your area to help them educate their students on the issue of hunger in Canada.
    • Social media images with choices directly taken from the videos
*The Impossible Choices component of the toolkit is only available in English

Help elevate the message on social media by using #HungerActionMonth and #FeedTheChange during the campaign!

Participate in the Upcoming Webinar!

In order to get you and your food bank well prepared for Hunger Action Month, we will be holding a webinar that will go over the toolkit as well as give you an opportunity to learn more about the campaign. The webinar will only be available in English but we will have a francophone staff member onsite for any questions.
