These partnerships are nourishing for everyone
Food Banks Canada collaborates successfully with many different types of corporate donors. But our partnerships with companies in the food and nutrition industries are particularly beneficial because of the deep alignment between our charitable goals and their corporate vision.

Through their support of Food Banks Canada, these companies are generating positive responses from their customers, their employees, and their communities.

New Roots Herbal
Take Quebec-based natural health products manufacturer New Roots Herbal, for example. The company has supported the work of Food Banks Canada since 2009 through its Choose to Care program.

“Charitable giving is important to us because we are founded on the basis of a better quality of life for everyone,” says New Roots founder Peter Wilkes.

When consumers purchase any New Roots Herbal product, the company makes a donation to us as a partner charity.

The decision to work with Food Banks Canada was a natural alignment for the company..

“We reap enormous intrinsic benefits knowing that someone has access to a much needed food that would not otherwise have been available,” says Wilkes.

In addition to helping people in the community, says Wilkes, “the company’s charitable involvement fosters a positive and motivating work environment within the organization. And our clientele takes great pride in knowing that a portion of the sale of our products goes to Food Banks Canada, which supports a need that is close to their hearts,” says Wilkes.

Good Food for Good
For Toronto-based Good Food for Good, charitable giving is a part of the company’s DNA. The company describes itself as a “social enterprise committed to making a difference one meal at a time.”

“It’s about good food for you and good food for someone in need,” explains company founder Richa Gupta. “It is essentially a buy one, feed one venture.”

Gupta experienced first hand the challenges faced by busy working parents when she was faced with constantly struggling to quickly get healthy meals on the dinner table after a hard day at work. Her own challenges inspired her to help time-starved families by developing tasty foods made without additives. Her products make quick and healthy meal preparation much easier — and much more delicious.

From the outset, Gupta built a philanthropic slant into the very structure of her sales. “Every time you buy one of our foods we not only make a difference on your plate, we also donate a meal to help fight hunger,” she says.  When you purchase a package of Turmeric Tea a meal is donated to Food Banks Canada.

Food is for sharing
We cherish Good Food for Good, New Roots Herbal, and all of our partners for their diverse contributions to our organization, and we are equally grateful that we are able to give something back to them.
