Help those in need this Halloween!
Did you know that more than 1 in 3 people helped by food banks are children? Now that is scary!

There are many ways that you can make a difference this Halloween, we’ve outlined 5 ideas to get you started.

  1. Turn your costume party into food drive
Connect with your local food bank to find out what’s most in need this time of year and share that list with friends and family coming to your party. Let party guests know that a donation (or even better- a bag of donations!) gets you into the celebration.
  2. Work with your school to host a Halloween themed fundraiser
Charge a few dollars at the door of your Halloween dance or put a collection box at your school store. Food banks are always looking for monetary donations to round out the food they receive from the community.
  3. Trick or Treat for food or funds
Campaigns across the country encourage kids of all ages, public through university student students, to Trick or Treat for local food bank donations. Learn more here
  4. Attend a ghoulish Halloween food sort
Contact your local food bank and plan a time to volunteer. Make it fun by getting a group together dressing up in theme (what about a giving group of ghosts?!)
  5. Share this blog post to get other gargoyles and goblins in the giving spirit!
