What is your role in food banking?
I am the Executive Director of the Burlington Food Bank.

Satisfying.

Developing a team of volunteers that serve others in a caring, empathetic way and being recognized for the great service we provide to our community.

What is the greatest challenge in your current role?
Bringing recognition to the economic/social struggles that many people in an affluent city like Burlington have and helping people see that those we serve are no different than the rest of our residents.

Economic and social assistance for our most vulnerable whether they be seniors, students or those who struggle with health concerns of any kind.

What talent would you most like to have?
I would like to be able to skate; I feel like less of a Canadian being born and raised here and yet I never learned how to skate.

If you could tell your younger self some advice, what would it be?
Learn how to skate! No, I would say enjoy each day and the joys and struggles of it, learn something new in each situation, you will get better at this with practice.

Who are your heroes? Fictional or real life.
Batman, obviously, with the name Robin.

What is your idea of happiness?
Happiness often goes hand in hand with contentment for me, so any times where I can slow down and enjoy the scenery, the experience or the people I am with.

Serve others well, treat them the way you would like to be treated.

What’s something quirky about you that others may not expect or know?
I have a crazy memory for numbers and for random trivia.

What’s your theme song?
“Adventure of a Lifetime” by Coldplay, it also has a fun music video!
