Our Network

Food Banks Canada supports a network of 10 Provincial Associations and more than 500 affiliate food banks. We represent food banks in every province and territory. Together, we serve approximately 85% of the people accessing food programs nationwide.

Provincial Associations and Affiliate food banks benefit from their relationship with Food Banks Canada in a number of ways.

These organizations receive a fair share of large-scale food donations raised by Food Banks Canada, proportionate to the number of people they serve. They have access to the many grants and programs that we offer. Our network also benefits from our other activities, such as the coordinated research that is originated by Food Banks Canada and the policy analysis we do to support our advocacy work to reduce hunger.

Provincial Associations and Affiliate food banks have a voice in our organization through representatives who sit on our Network Council.

All of our Provincial Associations and Affiliate food banks subscribe to The Ethical Foodbanking Code developed by Food Banks Canada.

If you operate a food bank or agency and are not yet an affiliate of our network, please contact your provincial food bank association to find out how you can strengthen your organization by joining us.
