Community Kitchen Better Meals Fund

Program goals: This program assists Affiliate Member food banks to develop, maintain, or expand their community kitchen programs.

Community kitchens are agencies that work at the community level to provide a range of ongoing services, such as teaching people essential skills in meal planning and preparation, so they can prepare good, nutritious food for themselves and their families. Community kitchens also help people acquire skills that provide employment or volunteer opportunities working in kitchens.

Support: The Community Kitchen Better Meals Fund provides food banks with funding for three categories of work:

  • program development
  • equipment purchases and upgrades
  • leasehold improvements

How to participate: We invite applications and requests for information from Affiliate Member food banks who operate a community kitchen.
