HungerCount 2014 offers a deep look at the root causes of the need for food banks

The report shows that in a typical month, food banks in Canada now provide food and other supports to more than three quarters of a million separate individuals – 841,000 people. This means 170,000 more people each month are seeking assistance, compared to when the economic downturn started in 2008 – a 25% increase.

Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Drive Away Hunger

Thank you Farm Credit Canada for another incredibly successful FCC Drive Away Hunger Campaign! We are especially grateful for the $100,000 donation which will be dedicated to the Rural Support Program as well as individuals and families that require food bank assistance across Canada.

Thank You Walmart Canada!

From October 2 to October 12, Walmart Canada launched its first ever national food drive in partnership with local food banks to support families in need. Customers made non-perishable food donations to their local food bank at their Walmart store and Walmart hosted an online Virtual Food Drive.
